Before leaving the UK in 1999, Sue was an active member of various orchestras and symphonic wind orchestras including Kirklees Youth Wind Orchestra, Clifton Chamber Orchestra, Bath Philharmonia and Avon Sinfonietta. Since then she has given concerts in Italy, France, Croatia, India, Russia, China and Germany, where she has performed regularly with a number of varied ensembles including the Prinzregenten-Ensemble Munich, Symphonic Wind Orchestra Norderstedt and Orchestra-91 (Hamburg), with numerous symphony orchestras, chamber groups and project orchestras. Sue is one half of the bass clarinet duo ENTANGLED which gives regular solo and chamber recitals in England and Germany.
Sue is equally at home on the clarinet and the bass clarinet and is an impassioned, devoted advocate of the bass clarinet as a solo instrument. Her preferred clarinet is the German built V-420 Reform Boehm made by Leitner & Kraus (with a Wurlitzer 3WZ mouthpiece) and a Selmer Privilege bass clarinet.
